COMMUNITY IMPACT
Music That Gives Back
When the culture invests in itself, everyone rises.
MORE THAN AN EVENT
We Didn't Just Build a Show. We Built a Platform.
When Music Speaks was never just about one night. From the beginning, the vision was bigger — to use the power of R&B and soul music as a vehicle for real, lasting change in the Tampa Bay community.
Every ticket sold, every partnership formed, and every artist who takes our stage contributes to something that extends far beyond the venue. We invest in youth, in artists, and in the cultural fabric of the city we call home.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Through our WMS Youth Music Initiative, we partner with Tampa Bay area schools and after-school programs to bring music education directly to young people who might not otherwise have access. From instrument workshops to songwriting clinics, we believe every child deserves to discover their voice.

ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
A Stage for the Next Voice
The WMS Artist Pipeline is our commitment to the next generation of R&B and soul talent. We actively seek out unsigned, independent artists from the Tampa Bay region and give them real opportunities — not just a slot on a bill, but mentorship, production support, and exposure to audiences who are ready to listen.
Open auditions for local emerging artists
Studio recording sessions for selected artists
Performance slots on the WMS main stage
Industry networking and showcase opportunities
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Rooted in Tampa Bay
WMS is a Tampa Bay story. We show up for the community year-round — not just on event night. From free pop-up performances in underserved neighborhoods to partnerships with local nonprofits, we're committed to being a resource, not just a spectacle.
Free Community Concerts
Pop-up performances in parks and community centers across Tampa Bay, bringing live R&B and soul to neighborhoods that rarely see it.
Cultural Preservation
Documenting and celebrating the history of Black music in Tampa Bay through oral history projects and community archives.
Nonprofit Partnerships
Working alongside local organizations to amplify their missions through music — fundraisers, benefit concerts, and shared platforms.
Voter & Civic Engagement
Using our platform to encourage civic participation, with registration drives and community forums at every WMS event.
COMMUNITY VOICES
Heard From the People
WMS gave my daughter her first real stage. She's been a different kid ever since — more confident, more focused, more herself.
Tamara J.
Parent, WMS Youth Program
I've been doing music in Tampa for 12 years. WMS is the first event that actually felt like it was built for us — by people who love this music the way we do.
Marcus D.
Local Artist, WMS Alumni
The partnership with WMS has helped us reach hundreds of young people we couldn't have reached alone. They don't just write a check — they show up.

Executive Director, Tampa Arts Alliance
GET INVOLVED
Be Part of the Impact
There are many ways to support the WMS mission — as a sponsor, a volunteer, a donor, or simply by showing up on January 2, 2027. Every contribution, big or small, keeps the music alive and the community growing.
